RSI Associate Attorney application

Richard Spoor Inc Attorneys is a dynamic public interest law firm specialising in constitutional law, administrative law, land rights, occupational health and safety matters and class actions. RSI seeks to appoint an admitted attorney to join the firm in its class action practice.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:


  • Managing and reviewing complex discovery documents and processes.

  • Consulting with clients and managing client files.

  • Consulting with and briefing counsel.

  • Co-ordinating and planning large-scale litigation.

  • Drafting legal documents, submissions and/or opinions.

  • Administrating client files and providing litigation updates to clients.

  • Engaging with governmental and/or private institutions on clients' behalf.

  • Monitoring progress of cases, including co-ordination of fieldwork and other tasks.

  • Preparing damages reports.

  • Consulting with experts and reviewing of expert reports.

  • Building and maintaining partnerships with key stakeholders and clients.

  • Liaising with the media.


Requirements:


  • Admitted attorney with at least 2 years' post admission experience.

  • Advantages:

  • Demonstrated commitment to human rights

  • Fluency in one or more official languages

  • Practical experience as a litigator

  • Advanced computer literacy

  • Advanced Excel skills


Additional Information:


  • Start date: Immediate.

  • Location: Parktown, Johannesburg and White River, Mpumalanga
